Church Of God In Christ

Faith Temple Church of God in Christ doors opened on March 26, 1936, with Pastor Dornell Edwards as the founder. As of July 2003, Pastor Eldridge Stewart was appointed Pastor and later changed the name of the church to Deliverance and Restoration Church Of God In Christ and remain in Edna, Texas. The church continued to grow under new leadership: the people in Edna are benefiting from what God continues doing at Deliverance and Restoration.

Since Pastor Stewart has been in leadership, his focus of the ministry is to fulfill the great commission. The number one mission of the church is to see lives change and point people to Jesus Christ. Secondly, the center of the church’s mission is to evangelize the community.  

In July of 2017, Pastor Stewart was appointed Superintendent under Bishop S. E. Iglehart. Supt. Stewart is now Superintendent of the Greater Victoria District of the Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Supt. Stewart has served his church, jurisdiction, and family faithfully.

The mantra of his existence has built character, and it’s what keeps his focus. Brokeness: how God transformed him. Mother: raised by a single parent. Looking back: remembering how he faced his trues and overcome defeat.   

Supt. Stewart meet his wife, Kecia Morris, and have been married for over 32 years. Together they have a son, Elderidge Stewart 32 years old. The Stewart family has extended to (foster care and adoption) Te’Khilah 15 Yrs., Te’Kyrah 11 Yrs., Unique 13 Yrs., and Te’Khiyah 7 Yrs.

Supt. Stewart and the church family have expressed their love for the youth and have made it his ministry and life to care for them in every way.

Isaiah 10:27

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
